T10 Ultrasound Speaker & Microphone Tester
The T10 is a compact, cost-effective ultrasound speaker with built-in amplifier. The speaker input jack accepts signals from most analog ultrasonic sound sources (e.g. a tone generator, a computer with a high-speed sound card or a digital recorder with high sampling rate). This means that pre-recorded bat calls can be played through the speaker, which is useful e.g. for teaching how to use a bat detector or even as a simple bat lure.
An added feature to the T10 is its integrated sound generator, designed to assist in testing the performance of ultrasound microphones/detectors. The available test sounds are a 40 kHz tone for making a quick check and a multi-frequency sound (10, 20, 30, 40, 50…. kHz) for more advanced tests.
The T10 comes with instructions for testing most Pettersson microphones/detectors, but can also be used for comparative tests of other types of microphones.
The T10 can be used at frequencies up to about 90 kHz.
