These units are all full spectrum ultrasonic recorders for leaving out on site.
The Ranger & Chorus, Batloggers A, A+, C & S2, Pettersson D500X and Wildlife Acoustics SM4BAT FS and MINI BAT 2 are passive recorders. There is also the Elekon Batlogger WE X for long-term remote bat monitoring of wind turbines.
The Mini Bat 2, Ranger & Chorus can be used for both acoustic (birds/frogs) and ultrasonic recordings.
If you want a unit that can be used both actively and passively, the Batlogger M is an excellent piece of kit.
For passive use it's a matter of personal preference (and budget), as well as how you'll use them (see below).

The Titley Ranger is a full spectrum passive recorder option with built-in GPS and several microphone and extension cable options. Arguably the easiest passive recorder to use. Deployment times up to 100 nights or 700 hours acoustic.

Titley Chorus
The Chorus comes as standard with an acoustic microphone (for birds, frogs, etc.) but can also be used with an optional ultrasonic microphone for bats. Has deployment times of up to 30 nights acoustic (300 hours) or 40 nights ultrasonic (400 hours). You can use a second acoustic microphone for stereo recordings of birds/frogs instead of the ultrasonic microphone.
